Showtime began his professional career in December of 2007 when he turned 20. Pettis trains with famous kickboxing coach Duke Roufus out of Milwaukee doachbags.weebly.com, Wisconsin. Some of his training partners include Pat Berry, Matt Mitrione, and Olympic wrestler Ben Askren.
Showtime collected a record of 6-0 before moving to the WEC. Pettis got to 6-0 by fighting a local promotion in Milwaukee but never got a win via submission. In June of 2009, Pettis had his first fight in the WEC challenging Mike Campbell at WEC 41. This contest was Anthony's first win by submission forcing Campbell to give up at 1:49 of round 1 with a triangle choke.
The nickname "Showtime" is fitting for his fight at WEC 50. Pettis' opponent that evening was Shane Roller. Pettis used a compilation of striking, wrestling, and even some capoeira on his way to victory. Even after using all these strategies doachfactoryoutletonline.weebly.com, it was still good old fashioned jiu jitsu that got Pettis the tap. Pettis got recognized during the fight for using Martelo and Au Batido kicks to Roller.
Pettis was featured on the MTV show "World of Jenks" where we got an in depth look into his family and training life. Pettis lost his father at a young age and retold the memories of the evening he received the news about his dad on the show. Pettis is a true warrior and at just 23 years old, has the possibility to become the UFC Lightweigt Champ.
Pettis has had 5 fights in the WEC. Pettis has 4 victories and over half of them came by way of triangle choke. This is the kind of thing we like to see at BJJ in MMA. We wish "Showtime" continued prosperity and can't wait to see him make his changeover to the UFC. Make sure to tune in Thursday night for the final WEC show and see Pettis battle Henderson to put himself in position for a chance at the lightweight belt. Wec 53 Fighter To Watch Anthony Pettis
